Update on Mom

The boys and I went with her this morning to her Doctors appointment at the Cancer Care Center. The doctor informed us that there seems to be a "mystery" spot on the top lob part of her liver between two major veins. I say mystery because they are not sure what it is but do know that it was not noticed before in any other scans. She had a PET scan and a CT 6 weeks ago and this is the results from then. The doctor is "a little" concerned but not really. The reasoning is that usually when a tumor is found in a PET scan it is very noticeable. (looks like it is one fire) But this one is seen but not standing out like the ones that Mom has had in the past. We did not get the results of her alpha feta protein (a cancer maker) but the doctor will be getting that within a couple of hours. If it is highly elevated then there will be more concern.

At this point the doctor is going to consult with the radiologist and see if there is anything that they recommend. We should hear something back from the doctor by Wednesday so stay tuned. Please keep my Mom in your thoughts and prayers. She is staying strong and has faith so that is great. She is one tough lady I tell ya!
